In the Matter of the REPRESENTATION OF EMPLOYEES of Performance Technical Specialists |
29 NMB No. 66 CASE NO. R-6895 DISMISSAL- June 18, 2002 |
The services of the National Mediation Board (Board) were invoked by the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers, AFL-CIO (IAM) on May 8, 2002, to investigate and determine who may represent for the purposes of the Railway Labor Act, as provided by Section 2, Ninth, thereof, personnel described as "Performance Technical Specialists," an accretion to the Ground Instructors craft or class, employees of United Airlines, Inc.
At the time this application was received, these employees were not represented by any organization or individual.
The Board assigned Investigator Susanna Fisher to investigate.
Subsequently, Mr. R. Thomas Buffenbarger, International President, IAM filed a letter with the NMB which stated, "Due to an agreement between the IAM and UAL, the IAM hereby withdraws its accretion application for Case No. 6756."
On the basis of this letter of withdrawal, NMB File No. CR-6756 is converted to NMB Case No. R-6895 and the Board hereby dismisses and closes its file in this mater.
By direction of the NATIONAL MEDIATION BOARD.
