29 NMB No. 54 CASE NO. R-6888 DISMISSAL - May 13, 2002 |
The services of the National Mediation Board (NMB) were invoked by the Hotel Employees and Restaurant Employees International Union (HERE) on March 14, 2002, to investigate and determine whether a single transportation system existed among the Carriers: Sky Chefs, Inc. (Sky Chefs) LSG Lufthansa Services, Guam, Inc., and LSG Lufthansa Service Saipan, Inc. (LSG-Guam/Saipan) for the purposes of the Railway Labor Act, as provided by Section 2, Ninth. HERE represents the Carriers' employees in the craft or class of "In-Flight Kitchen, Catering, Commissary, Hotel/Motel, Restaurant, and Related Employees."
The Board assigned Investigator Sean J. Rogers to investigate.
Subsequently, John O'B. Clarke, Jr., Attorney for HERE, filed a letter with the NMB which stated in part, "[t]he Hotel Employees and Restaurant Employees International Union (HERE) withdraw[s] the application it filed with this Board on March 14, 2002, . . . requesting a Single Transportation System determination."
On the basis of this letter of withdrawal NMB File No. CR-6750 is converted to NMB Case No. R-6888 and the NMB hereby dismisses and closes its file in this matter.
By direction of the NATIONAL MEDIATION BOARD.
