The services of the National Mediation Board (NMB) were invoked by the International Brotherhood of Teamsters (IBT) on August 7, 2001, to investigate and determine who may represent for the purposes of the Railway Labor Act, as provided by Section 2, Ninth, thereof, personnel described as "Stock and Stores Employees," employees of Holland America Westours, Inc.

At the time this application was received, these employees were not represented by any organization or individual.

The Board assigned Investigator Mary L. Johnson to investigate.

Subsequently, Mr. Ray Benning, Director, Airline Division, International Brotherhood of Teamsters, filed a letter with the NMB which stated, "On behalf of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, I am hereby withdrawing the Organization application assigned NMB File No. CR-6729 (Stock and Stores Employees)."

On the basis of this letter of withdrawal referred to above, NMB File No. CR-6729 is converted to NMB Case No. R-6842 and the Board hereby dismisses the application and closed its file in this matter.
