25 NMB No. 90

CASE NO. R-6613

(File No. CR-6628)

DISMISSAL

June 10, 1998

The services of the National Mediation Board (NMB) were invoked by the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers, AFL-CIO (IAM) on April 29, 1998, to investigate and determine who may represent for the purposes of the Railway Labor Act, as provided by Section 2, Ninth, thereof, personnel described as "Training Program Maintenance Coordinators," as an accretion to the craft or class of "Fleet Technical Instructors," employees of United Airlines, Inc.

During the investigation the IAM took the position that these employees should be included in its certification in R-6474 which covers the craft or class of Ground Instructors.

FINDINGS

The investigation established that Training Program Maintenance Coordinators on United Airlines, Inc. are part of the craft or class of Ground Instructors.

The Board finds that Training Program Maintenance Coordinators are included in the craft or class of Ground Instructors, employed by United Airlines, Inc. and are encompassed in the Board's certification in R-6474. As there is no further need for investigation or election, the IAM's application is converted to R-6613 and dismissed.

By direction of the NATIONAL MEDIATION BOARD.
