The services of the National Mediation Board (NMB) were invoked by the Office & Professional Employees International Union (OPEIU) on January 8, 1998, to investigate and determine who may represent for the purposes of the Railway Labor Act, as provided by Section 2, Ninth, thereof, personnel described as "A&P Mechanics & Ground Support Personnel," employees of Air Logistics, LLC.

At the time this application was received, these employees were not represented by any organization or individual.

The Board assigned Mediator John Kane to investigate. The matter was reassigned to Senior Mediator Lawrence A. Gibbons.

Subsequently, Timothy Gallagher, Attorney for OPEIU, filed a letter with the NMB which stated, "[t]he Office and Professional Employees International Union, AFL-CIO, CLC herein withdraws its . . . Application for Investigation of Representation Dispute for the Craft or Class involving 'A&P Mechanics & Ground Support Personnel.'"

On the basis of this letter of withdrawal referred to above, the Board hereby dismisses the application and closes its file subject to Part 1206.4 of the NMB Rules. NMB File No. CR-6623 is converted to R-6609 and dismissed.
