In the Matter of the

REPRESENTATION OF EMPLOYEES

of

UNITED PARCEL SERVICE

Flight Simulator Technicians

25 NMB No. 79

CASE NO. R-6604

(FILE NO. CR-6631)

DISMISSAL

April 23, 1998

The services of the National Mediation Board were invoked by the International Brotherhood of Teamsters (IBT) on April 2, 1998, to investigate and determine who may represent for the purposes of the Railway Labor Act, as provided by Section 2, Ninth, thereof, personnel described as "Flight Simulator Technicians," as an accretion to the craft or class of Mechanics and Related Employees, employees of United Parcel Service.

During the investigation the IBT took the position that these employees should be included in its certification in R-5952 which covers the craft or class of Mechanics and Related Employees.

FINDINGS

The investigation established that Flight Simulator Technicians on United Parcel Service are part of the craft or class of Mechanics and Related Employees. See United Parcel Service, 25 NMB 174 (1998).

The Board finds that Flight Simulator Technicians are included in the craft or class of Mechanics and Related Employees, employed by United Parcel Service and are encompassed in the Board's certification in R-5952. As there is no further need for investigation or election, the IBT's application is converted to R- 6604 and dismissed.

By direction of the NATIONAL MEDIATION BOARD.
