NATIONAL MEDIATION BOARD Washington, D.C. 20572 |
In the Matter of the REPRESENTATION OF EMPLOYEES of UNITED PARCEL SERVICE Simulator Technicians |
25 NMB No. 40 CASE NO. R-6558 DISMISSAL
|
The services of the National Mediation Board were invoked by the International Association of Machinists & Aerospace Workers, AFL-CIO, on October 27, 1997, to investigate and determine who may represent for the purposes of the Railway Labor Act, as provided by Section 2, Ninth, thereof, personnel described as "Simulator Technicians", employees of United Parcel Service.
At the time this application was received, these employees were not represented by any organization or individual.
The Board assigned Mediator Lawrence Gibbons to investigate.
FINDINGS
The Mediator's investigation established that Simulator Technicians on United Parcel Service are part of the craft or class of Mechanics and Related Employees.
Therefore, the Board finds no basis upon which to proceed in this matter and the application is hereby dismissed.
By direction of the NATIONAL MEDIATION BOARD.
Stephen E. Crable
