Re: The IC&E Railroad and IBT/BLET Agree to Arbitration

Washington, D.C. -- The National Mediation Board (NMB) is pleased to announce that the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and Trainmen of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters (IBT/BLET) and the Iowa, Chicago, and Eastern Railroad (IC&E) have agreed to arbitrate remaining issues to resolve their collective bargaining dispute, thus averting a potential work stoppage.

Mediation was guided by NMB Mediator John Livingood.

Specific information regarding the agreement should be obtained directly from the parties.
