Re: Mansfield is "Transportation Lawyer of the Year"

Washington, D.C. -- The National Mediation Board is pleased to announce that Benetta Mansfield, the NMB's Deputy Chief of Staff, has been named "Transportation Lawyer of the Year" by the Transportation Law Section of the Federal Bar Association.

The award will be presented at a Federal Bar Association reception this evening in the Rayburn House Office Building in Washington, D.C.

Ms Mansfield joined the NMB as a Senior Hearing Officer in March, 1999, and was promoted to Deputy Chief of Staff in May, 2000. In addition to her duties as the Deputy Chief of Staff, she directs the agency's Representation and Legal Department and manages the agency's attorneys.

Before coming to the NMB, Ms Mansfield worked in the transportation law field in a number of capacities, including work as in-house counsel to the Amalgamated Transit Union. She was also a court-appointed election officer overseeing the election of International officers for the International Brotherhood of Teamsters.
