Former APFA Official Joins NMB as a Mediator

Denise Hedges joined the NMB staff as a mediator on September 5, 2000. Ms. Hedges brings a wealth of collective bargaining and airline industry experience to her new position at the NMB. She served as the president and chief executive officer of the Association of Professional Flight Attendants (APFA) from 1992 until this year. A purser and flight attendant, she also has served as negotiating and national committee member, grievance representative, and a local base chairperson. In 1993, she was named Labor Leader of the Year by the New York Times and is currently listed in Who's Who in Executives and Businesses.
