Re: Champion Air and ALPA reach Agreement

Washington, D.C. -- The National Mediation Board is pleased to announce that Champion Air and its Pilots, represented by the Air Line Pilots Association (ALPA), reached a tentative agreement on their first collective bargaining agreement on August 30, 2002. The negotiations were conducted with the assistance of Mediator John Livingood and Senior Mediator Patricia Sims.

The agreement is subject to union member ratification. Specific information regarding the contract or its provisions should be obtained directly from the parties.

Champion's pilots fly a fleet of 13 Boeing 727-200 aircraft, providing dedicated charter airlift for professional sports teams, corporations and tour package wholesalers. ALPA represents more than 66,000 members at 43 airlines in the U.S. and Canada, including Champion Air's 136 pilots.
