RE: NORTHWEST AIRLINES

Following both the formal and informal meetings held this week, the parties agreed to a conference, which is set for 2:00 P.M. Saturday, September 5 in Chicago, IL.

The meeting is characterized as "Exploratory," in the hope of determining what the parameters of a settlement might be.

During the interim, the parties have been asked by the NMB to do the necessary internal deliberations so as to maximize the chances of resolving the dispute.
