Re: Midwest Express and the AFA do not reach Agreement

Washington, D.C. -- Talks between Midwesrt Express Airlines and the Association of Flight Attendants (AFA) have fallen short of agreement in spite of the intense effort by both parties to avert a potential strike situation by the Flight Attendants. On July 30th, the NMB had released parties from mediated negotiations, initiating a mandated 30-day cooling-off period which ended at 12:01 a.m., August 30, 2002.

The National Mediation Board remains willinng to assist the parties in reaching a settlement.
