Re: NMB Develops Arbitrators' Caseload Report
Washington, D.C. – The National Mediation Board is pleased to announce the latest in its ongoing efforts to enhance public access to information via the NMB website. The agency has developed an Arbitrators’ Caseload Report and posted a link to the Report on the NMB website (www.nmb.gov). It is intended for practitioners of railroad grievance arbitration under the Railway Labor Act (RLA) and interested members of the public.
The report shows by Arbitrator, grievance cases of railroad employees the parties have chosen to pursue under procedures established by the RLA. It also indicates whether a case is late (i.e., a decision has not been rendered within 6 months of when the case was heard by the arbitrator). The Report does not include interest-arbitration cases.
The Arbitrators’ Caseload Report is real-time in that it has a direct link to an NMB database reflecting updates as they are made by Board staff. Any errors brought to the attention of the NMB will be corrected as soon as possible.
The Arbitrator’s Caseload Report is easily accessed by clicking on the Arbitration button available on the Home Page of the NMB website (www.nmb.gov) and then selecting “Arbitrator’s Caseload Report” from the Arbitration Menu. Users of this system will be asked to read and accept certain terms of usage prior to accessing the Report. After doing so, a report similar to the sample below will be displayed.
