Re: CSXT and UTU Reach Tentative Agreement

The National Mediation Board is pleased to announce that the CSX Transportation Company (CSXT) and the United Transportation Union (UTU), facilitated by NMB Senior Mediator Patricia Sims, reached a tentative contract agreement covering the craft or class of Yardmasters. Interest-based bargaining (IBB), used by the parties to explore mutual interests and needs, was instrumental in reaching agreement.

This agreement is subject to union membership ratification with results expected on August 29, 2002. Specific information regarding the contract or its provisions should be obtained directly from the parties.
