Re: Wheeling and Lake Erie Railroad and BRS Reach Tentative Agreement

Washington, D.C. -- The National Mediation Board (NMB) is pleased to announce that the Wheeling and Lake Erie Railroad and the International Brotherhood of Signalmen (BRS) reached tentative contract agreement on July 17, 2003, covering the three separate crafts or classes of Signalmen, Maintenance of Way, and Locomotive Mechanics. Mediation was guided by NMB Mediator Dick Hanusz and Deputy Chief of Staff Larry Gibbons.

The agreement is subject to union member ratification. Specific information regarding the contract or its provisions should be obtained directly from the parties.
