Re: Mediation: Atlas Air and Air Line Pilots Association

Washington, D.C. - The National Mediation Board is pleased to announce that Atlas Air and the Air Line Pilots Association (ALPA), working with NMB Board Member Magdalena Jacobsen and Senior Mediator Linda Puchala, averted a potential strike situation by reaching a tentative contract agreement on June 27, 2002, covering the craft or class of Flight Deck Crew Members. On May 29, the NMB had released parties from mediated negotiations, initiating a mandated 30-day cooling-off period.

The agreement is subject to union member ratification. Specific information regarding the contract or its provisions should be obtained directly from the parties.
