June 14, 1999 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE NATIONAL MEDIATION BOARD RE: TRANS WORLD AIRLINES - INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF MACHINISTS AND AEROSPACE WORKERS (IAM&AW) [The National Mediation Board (NMB) issued the following statement early Sunday morning concerning the tentative agreement reached between Trans World Airlines and the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM&AW).] NMB Member Ernest DuBester said, "the Board was pleased to assist the parties in mediation over the past year in reaching a tentative agreement." The agreement covers 16,000 employees under separate contracts for flight attendant, passenger service and mechanics and related employees at the airline. DuBester praised both TWA and the union for going the extra miles that were necessary to bring closure to this very important set of negotiations.
