NATIONAL MEDIATION BOARD

RE: US AIRWAYS - INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF MACHINIST AND AEROSPACE WORKERS (IAM&AW)

The National Mediation Board (NMB) announced today that it is pleased that the Board was able to assist US Airways and the International Association of Machinist and Aerospace Workers (IAM&AW) in reaching a tentative contract agreement covering 7,000 mechanical and related employees at the airline.

NMB Chair Magdalena Jacobsen said, "With the cooperation of both US Airways and the IAM, we were able to bring closure to this important set of negotiations. Mediator John Schrage played a significant role in resolving key issues at 3:10 a.m. Sunday morning."
