Re: Northwest Airlines' Flight Attendants Ratify Agreement

NMB Board Member Maggie Jacobsen congratulates Northwest Airlines' 11,000 Flight Attendants for their recent approval of a new tentative agreement with the carrier. The Flight Attendants are represented by the International Brotherhood of Teamsters - Airline Division. The April agreement between Northwest and the Flight Attendants followed intense mediation under the direction of Member Jacobsen and with the assistance of Mediator Laurette Piculin. The NMB credits the commitment and diligence of the union bargaining committee and Northwest's management team for overcoming critical barriers to settlement, which included the rejection of an earlier agreement, and for forging an agreement which has won the strong approval of those participating in the recent ratification election.
