Re: Transition Advisory -- NMB Public Affairs

The National Mediation Board announced today that Jim Armshaw will transfer his Public Affairs Officer responsibilities to Daniel Rainey, NMB Director of Program Development and Outreach. Beginning Monday, April 16, 2001, all media and public information inquiries should be directed to Mr. Rainey using the existing public information system. During business hours, calls should go to (202) 692-5050, and calls after hours or on weekends should go to 202 692-5049.

Mr. Armshaw, who announced his planned retirement from Federal service last December, has served the NMB in a variety of important roles. He first served with the Board during the mid-1970's and joined the NMB staff again in 1996. He will remain with the Board though the end of this year. Armshaw, will assume duties as Project Manager for several NMB initiatives. The planned transition will enable the Board to take advantage of Jim's experience and expertise to extend the agency's institutional memory to those of us left behind.
