Re:  NICTD and the UTU Reach Agreement

Washington, D.C. — The National Mediation Board (NMB) is pleased to announce that the Northern Indiana Commuter Transportation District (NICTD) and the United Transportation Union (UTU) ratified a Collective Bargaining Agreement on January 24, 2012 covering Conductors, Collectors and Engineers.

Settlement was facilitated by NMB Mediator Walter Darr under the agency’s Facilitated Problem Solving (FPS) approach to assisting the parties to reach agreement on collective bargaining issues. For more information about FPS, see Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) on the NMB website (www.nmb.gov).

Specific information regarding the contract and its provisions should be obtained directly from the parties.
