Re: Elgin, Joliet & Eastern and the UTU Reach Tentative Agreement

Washington, D.C. -- The National Mediation Board is pleased to announce that the Elgin, Joliet & Eastern Railroad and the United Transportation Union, representing the Train, Engine and Yard Service Employees have reached a tentative agreement.

Mediation began in October 2001, and was guided by Mediator Tom Ingles.

Specific information regarding the contract or its provisions should be obtained directly from the parties.
