Michael J. Wolf is Counsel for Dispute Resolution Technology. He joined the National Mediation Board staff in March 2005. Mr. Wolf serves the Board and its staff by working at the confluence of technology, mediation and law. He provides legal guidance, helps improve the way the Board and staff use existing technology, and exercises leadership in applying new technology to the way that NMB accomplishes its mission. Before joining the NMB staff, Mr. Wolf spent more than 20 years as a neutral, an educator and an advocate in the labor-management relationship. He was Associate Director of former Secretary of Labor W.J. Usery's Center for the Workplace. At the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service, Mr. Wolf was a Federal Mediator, Director of Mediation Technology Services and Special Assistant to the Director. Mr. Wolf previously spent more than a decade practicing labor and employment law and a brief time as a Congressional staffer. He has served on court-annexed mediation and arbitration panels, held leadership positions in ADR segments of bar associations and been an advisor to dispute resolution professionals, judges, legislators, union leaders and business leaders concerning mediation and other forms of dispute resolution. Mr. Wolf has been adjunct faculty at Pepperdine's School of Law and a guest lecturer at other universities including Harvard's Kennedy School, George Washington University, University of Texas Business School and Rutgers Department of Public Policy. He earned a J.D. from Washington University in St. Louis and a B.A. from the University of Wisconsin. |
